How to Fix Outlook Express in Windows 2000
Outlook Express is an email client that allows you to create, organize and send messages with your web-based email account. At times, the software may become corrupted. There are several steps that you can take to troubleshoot issues with your Outlook Express.

Launch Outlook Express and click "File" in the main menu bar.
2Click "Identity" and then choose "New Identity."
3Type your name in the "Identity" field. Enter a password to protect this identity, if you wish. Click the "OK" button.
4Choose "Yes" when asked if you want to switch identities. Wait for the application to restart. Follow the prompts to create a new Internet connection with your web-based email. This includes entering your email address, incoming and outgoing service names and your password.
How to Rename and Repair Damaged Files1
Launch Outlook Express.
2Insert your Windows 2000 CD in your drive on your computer when you receive a "Windows File Protection" error.
3Click the "Retry" button. Wait for the missing or corrupt files to be replaced.
Create a New User Profile1
Click the "Start" button, choose "Control Panel" and then "System."
2Click the "User Profiles" tab. Highlight the profile that want to copy and click the "Copy To" button.
3Click the "Browse" button to designate a location for the files on your computer for the new profile. Click the "Change" button.
